British Rail PBA Bogie Covered China Clay Tiphook PLC ECC International Blue TRL33709382073
The British Rail PBA Bogie Covered China Clay Hopper Wagons, affectionately known as “Clay Tigers”, were a fleet of 35 wagons built in 1982 by Fauvet Girel in France. These wagons were specifically designed to replace the outdated vacuum-braked five-plank open wagons previously used for transporting china clay. The new design, developed in collaboration with English China Clays (ECC) and Tiger Rail, featured air brakes and a covered hopper structure, making them more efficient and better suited for the sensitive cargo.
