The TTA tank wagons were introduced by BR in the 1960s, with 1,000s built to replace ageing tank wagons of smaller capacity that it had inherited from private-owner fleets. Used to transport oil and petroleum products, they were still being built into the 1970s, with the last remaining in service until the early 2000s.
This highly detailed scale model represents one of the Amoco fleet, which became a common sight in the 1990s.
