London Transport operated several of their colourful ex-G.W.R. Pannier Tanks on works freight and departmental duties right up to 1971, long after the class had disappeared from British Rail. The use of the uncoupling ramp brings a touch of realism to shunting and freight operations with the 5 standard Hornby wagons and can provide a glimpse of the variety of pleasures to be derived from model railways.
